Details: | The article outlines Active Data Warehousing which is an opposite approach to the traditional population of the data warehouse using off-line ETL processes. The concept of active data warehousing is a trend where data warehouses are updated as frequently as possible, to accommodate the high demands of business users for fresh data. The authors of this article propose a sample and theoretical Active DW framework, which implements queue theory for the ETL process of the refreshment process.
